Inspired by the bold, improvisational quilts of the Gee’s Bend quilters, this abstract piece layers vivid blocks of color as if stitched together by memory and motion. Scraps of old book pages and printed papers are collaged into the surface, echoing the way fabric remnants were repurposed and woven into story-rich quilts.
